IMPACT100 Sydney North

Impact Evening

Thank you to the many members and friends who joined us on 30 August to celebrate reaching 100 members and the announcement of our 8 semi-finalists. We were very privileged to have Audette Exel AO (pictured) and Roxanne McMurray to share their stories with us, and to hear about the inspiring work of our semi-finalists. Special thanks and welcome to the new members who signed up on the night!

About our speakers:

Audette Exel AO is winner of the 2016 Leading Philanthropist Award, amongst many other awards and accolades. Founder and Chair of Adara Group, she is a philanthropic innovator and pioneer in the field of ‘business for purpose’. Adara is proof that the power of business can be used to improve the lives of people in poverty. The Adara Group consists of two Australian corporate advisory businesses, Adara Advisors and Adara Partners, whose sole purpose is to support the non-profit international development organisation, Adara Development. Together, they work to improve the health and education of women, children and communities in need. The Adara businesses fund all the core support costs of Adara Development, allowing 100% of other donations received to go directly to development projects. See HERE to read more about Audette.

Roxanne McMurray is Manager of Leichhardt Women’s Community Health Centre (LWCHC), the first women’s health centre in Australia. LWCHC was the recipient of Impact100 Sydney’s inaugural grant in March this year. The grant is funding a project to coach and mentor disadvantaged young women aged 16-17 who are residents of The Girls’ Refuge and Lillians. Girls are matched with successful women from the business community and undergo a 10 step structured course that provides guidance, ideas and networks to young women who have experienced trauma and been unable to live at home during their teenage years.
